WoW Forever class quests still hand out the tools that define your class: the hunter’s pet, Bear Form, the warlock’s demons, the warrior stances, the shaman’s totems and rogue Poisons all come from quests at the same levels as in Classic. In the original zones, World of Warcraft: Forever keeps Classic’s class quests, so the Classic chains below work as they always did. The changes sit on top: Cat Form is now a quest, priests got new race spells, the six new race and class pairings brought their own chains, and the Skyborne start theirs on Zephras Isle.

Below, class by class: every quest that teaches an ability or gives a class weapon or mount, plus the main gear chains, with the quest giver for each race. Forever-specific steps come from Icy Veins’ class quest guides, written from the beta (capped at level 30) and updated October 27 to 31; every ability these quests teach is checked against the live game’s data (build 1.60.1.70790). More guides are on our WoW Forever hub.

What WoW Forever Changed in Class Quests

WoW Forever’s class quest changes are additions: nothing Blizzard removed in its November 2 launch notes (Salvation, Mass Salvation, Revoke, Blessing of Light, Lava Burst, Frost Blast, Piercing Ice) was a quest reward, and the notes list Shank, the new rogue spell, as learned at level 24, with no quest mentioned.

Most classes also keep Classic’s level 50 chain with a choice of rare items, usually ending in Sunken Temple (the paladin one, Forging the Mightstone, runs through the Western Plaguelands), and every class has a level 60 Dire Maul book you trade for a Royal Seal of Eldre’Thalas. The open question is raid quests: Blizzard’s raid overview names Onyxia’s Lair, Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit for December 9, not Molten Core, Zul’Gurub or Ahn’Qiraj, so Rhok’delar, Benediction and the Zul’Gurub class sets have no raid yet. Ability changes outside quests are in our WoW Forever class changes guide.

Warrior Class Quests: Defensive Stance and Berserker Stance

Warriors learn Defensive Stance, Taunt and Sunder Armor from a level 10 quest that differs by race, and Berserker Stance from a level 30 quest on Fray Island in the Barrens that every race shares. Skyborne warriors get Defensive Stance and the shield Stormforged Protector from a new quest on Zephras Isle.

The Affray is an arena fight against waves of challengers, then Big Will. The Whirlwind chain ends against Cyclonian, a level 40 elite. Both level 20 chests need a Vial of Phlogiston from Roogug in Razorfen Kraul, and Blizzard’s known issues of November 5 warn of a cauldron near Roogug that players fall into and get stuck.

Paladin Class Quests: Redemption, Weapons and Mounts

Paladins get Redemption at level 12, a two-hander at 20 and their mounts at 40 and 60 from class quests. Forsaken paladins, new in WoW Forever, have their own chains from Bandarion Keep in Tirisfal Glades, and Blizzard’s Found Photos panel recap confirmed their own level 60 mount quest.

Verigan’s Fist and Wolfsbane need dungeon runs, and Icy Veins advises level 22 or higher. Icy Veins lists A Strange Artifact on its paladin page, but the cloak has no class lock in the live data. The live data also has a second level 40 Summon Warhorse without the Human and Dwarf restriction, which points to a Forsaken warhorse; how it is learned isn’t documented. Our WoW Forever paladin mount quest guide has every Charger step.

Hunter Class Quest: Taming the Beast

Hunters have one class quest that matters: the level 10 taming chain, which teaches Tame Beast and the pet skills. A hunter trainer gives you Taming the Beast and a Taming Rod; you tame three set beasts one after another, report back after each, and then learn Tame Beast for good.

Skyborne (new)ValanaarWindsong Crawler, Ornery Galestrider, Vuldren Alpha

The tame is a 20-second channel while the beast hits you, so open with Concussive Shot from range. Pet choice gets its own guide on November 10; until then, tame anything at your level.

Rogue Class Quests: The Poison Quest and Blade of Cunning

The rogue class quest you need is the level 20 poison quest, which teaches Poisons and differs by faction. The level 10 chains all give the Blade of Cunning, a strong early dagger. Icy Veins lists no level 10 chain for Skyborne rogues, so that one is unknown.

20Mathias and the Defias (Alliance)PoisonsMaster Mathias Shaw, Stormwind
20The Shattered Salute (Horde)PoisonsShenthul, Cleft of Shadow, Orgrimmar

Train Pick Pocket and get Lockpicking to 75 first. Alliance: pickpocket the Defias Tower Key in south-eastern Westfall, then sneak up Klaven’s Tower for the journal. Horde: /salute Shenthul, win over Taskmaster Fizzule north of the Sludge Fen, kill Grand Foreman Puzik Gallywix (a level 23 elite) for his lockbox, then see Serge Hinott in Tarren Mill. Smaller Classic chains follow at 16 (Alther’s Mill, Plundering the Plunderers) and 24 (The Manor, Ravenholdt).

Priest Class Quests: Racial Spells at Level 10 and 20

Priests learn two race-only spells from class quests at level 10 and 20, and WoW Forever swapped three of them and gave Gnome priests two new ones. Any priest trainer of your faction offers the quest, which just sends you to the NPC below, so you can also go there directly. The spells are confirmed by race and level in the live game’s data.

Divine Grace instantly heals an ally below a health threshold and removes Weakened Soul; Chastise deals Holy damage and roots a humanoid; Confounding Flash confuses nearby enemies; Contingency Plan shields and heals a warded ally who drops low; Dark Sacrifice turns health into mana. Desperate Prayer is Dwarf-only now. A level 4 Garments quest gives a robe.

Shaman Totem Quests: Earth, Fire, Water and Air

Shamans earn a totem per element from quests at levels 4, 10, 20 and 30, and in WoW Forever you still need it: each element’s totem spells require that totem in the live game’s data. New are Dwarf and Skyborne versions, a relic from Call of Fire and the level 30 weapon chain The Tempest’s Weapons.

30The Tempest’s Weapons (new)Elementalist’s Guard, plus Lightning’s Grasp, Tidebringer’s Claw or Rage of the StormFollows Call of Air

The Tempest’s Weapons needs Razorfen Kraul’s last boss, twisted totems from mobs of level 34 to 41 in Desolace, Swamp of Sorrows, the Badlands and Dustwallow Marsh, and elite waves below Darkcloud Pinnacle, so plan it for your late 30s.

Mage Class Quests: Wands, Robes and Polymorph: Pig

Mage class quests teach no combat ability, so every one is optional gear. The only spells are Polymorph: Pig, a cosmetic Polymorph, and the last rank of Conjure Water, both at 60.

The level 30 wand is the one worth the trip: it needs the Scarlet Monastery Library, a Jade and Witherbark totem sticks used at Arathi’s Circle of Outer Binding, with level 36 and higher enemies on the way.

Warlock Class Quests: Voidwalker, Succubus, Felhunter and More

Every warlock demon comes from a class quest: the Imp at level 1, the Voidwalker at 10, the Succubus or Incubus at 20, the Felhunter at 30, the Infernal at 50 and the Doomguard at 60, plus both mounts. Troll warlocks, new in WoW Forever, use the Orc quests, and all of these spells are in the live game’s data.

Soran’ruk needs fragments from Blackfathom Deeps and Shadowfang Keep, and the Felhunter chain runs through Hillsbrad, Thousand Needles and the Wetlands.

Druid Class Quests: Bear Form, Aquatic Form and Cat Form

Druids get Bear Form at level 10, Cure Poison at 14 and Aquatic Form at 16 from class quests, and WoW Forever adds Cat Form as a level 20 quest in Moonglade (Icy Veins). Skyborne druids get Bear Form on Zephras Isle, the fastest version; our WoW Forever Skyborne guide covers the race.

Bear Form: Teleport: Moonglade, find the Great Bear Spirit in the north-east, then kill a spirit in a cave east of Auberdine (Night Elf) or west of Camp Taurajo (Tauren). Skyborne kill Ur’endra in the cave at 53, 64, entering from the north. Aquatic Form: fish a bauble from Moonglade’s lake and join two pendant halves (Darkshore and the Westfall coast for the Alliance, the Sludge Fen and the Silverpine coast for the Horde). Cat Form: three relics from the Stormrage Barrow Dens. Icy Veins skips Cure Poison, which is optional with Abolish Poison at 26. Our WoW Forever leveling talents guide has a Feral build that tanks from 10.

FAQ

Which WoW Forever class quests should I do first?

The ones that unlock a core tool, on the day you reach their level: hunter pet, Voidwalker, Defensive Stance and Bear Form at 10, Redemption at 12, Poisons at 20, and each shaman totem. Weapon chains fit your late 30s; our WoW Forever dungeon quests guide covers the dungeon steps, and our leveling guide shows where you’ll be.

Which classes get a weapon quest in WoW Forever?

Paladins and warlocks at 20, rogues at 10, and warriors, mages and shamans at 30. No druid or hunter weapon quest has been reported up to level 30, the beta’s cap.

Do Forsaken paladins get a mount quest?

Yes. Blizzard confirmed a level 60 epic mount quest, and the live data contains Summon Forsaken Charger, but the steps aren’t published yet. See our WoW Forever mount guide for riding costs and our best race guide for why Undead is the only Horde paladin.
