Which Tailoring Specialization to choose?
Every Tailoring Specialization gives you the ability to create two Primal Mooncloth, Shadoweave or Spellcoth, depending on which one you choose, instead of one. You don’t need any additional materials for this though, which makes each of the three specs worth it.
Apart from this, there are certain items that only tailors with the respective specialization can create or even wear. I’ll list those below.
Mooncloth Tailoring
The quest for this Specialization starts with Nasmara Moonsong in the Lower City of Shattrath. She’ll give you the quest Becoming a Mooncloth Tailor, sending you to the Cenarion Refuge in Zangarmarsh. Here, you’ll have to create your first Mooncloth and report back to Nasmara in Shattrath. This is the easiest specialization to get and can easily be done at level 60.
Here are some of the exclusive items:
- The Primal Mooncloth Set can only be crafted and worn by Mooncloth Tailors.
- The Whitemend Wisdom Set can be worn by players without Tailoring, though the set Bonus requires Mooncloth Tailoring.
Shadoweave Tailoring
This Specialization quest starts with Andrion Darkspinner, right next to the other two specialization trainers. He will tell you to go to Shadowmoon Valley for the quest Becoming a Shadoweave Tailor. Once there, you’ll need to find the Altar of Shadows at [58,71]. Complete the quest and then report back to Andrion. This can be done at level 60, though it’s recommended to have a friend to help you get there, since there are a bunch of level 70 mobs near the area.
These are this specs special items:
- The Shadow’s Embrace Set requires Shadoweave Tailoring in order to wear it.
Spellfire Tailoring
The Spellfire Tailoring Quest starts with Gidge Spellweaver, who will give you the quest Becoming a Spellfire Tailor. For this Quest, you’ll need to venture to Netherstorm and use the Nether-wraith Beacon which has been provided. Be careful though, as this will spawn a level 70 Elemental and you must get credit for the kill. If you want to complete this at level 70, you’ll need a friend to help you.
These are the specific items:
- The Wrath of Spellfire Set can only be crafted and worn by Spellfire Tailors.
- The Spellstrike Infusion Set can be worn by players without Tailoring, though the set Bonus requires Spellfire Tailoring.
