The best places to farm Tin Ore in WoW Forever are Ashenvale and Hillsbrad Foothills for both factions, the Wetlands for the Alliance and the Barrens for the Horde. Ashenvale has the most Tin Vein spawn points of any zone on Wowhead (117), ahead of Redridge (108), Loch Modan (107), Duskwood (96), the Wetlands (89), Hillsbrad (86) and the Barrens (74); Westfall has 54. WoW Forever keeps Classic’s node spawns in the original zones, so the routes below work in both WoW Forever and WoW Classic. The one confirmed Forever change for these zones: Blizzard’s October 1 beta notes raised the respawn rate of creatures and objects in the Wetlands and Hillsbrad Foothills.

Tin Ore farming
Tin Ore is used to make Bronze, which is used by Engineers to create their tools & gadgets. It is mostly farmed by people who are leveling mining, so the price can vary a bit. Here is an overview:
- Gold per Hour (Classic, 2019): ~5-10 gold
- Competition: low
- Requirement: Mining skill 65, level ~20
Tin Ore in WoW Forever: What Changes
Tin farming in WoW Forever works the way it does in Classic: same zones, same spawn points, and Tin Veins still need Mining 65. The differences are around the veins:
- Faster respawns in two Tin zones: Blizzard’s October 1 beta notes increased the respawn rate of “creatures and objects” in the Wetlands and Hillsbrad Foothills, along with Ashenvale, Duskwood and Thousand Needles. Veins are objects, but the notes don’t name them, so faster Tin there is possible, not promised.
- Ore crates: an Apprentice Waylaid Crate takes 20 Tin Ore (or 20 Copper Ore), and the ingot version 20 Tin Bars or 10 Bronze Bars, paid in Merchant’s Favor, the recipe currency (Zockify’s beta data; usable from level 10). Turn-ins are at Three Corners in Redridge for the Alliance and west of the Crossroads for the Horde.
- Demand: by our count one Blacksmith uses 159 Tin Ore and one Engineer 56 on the way to 300, most of it as Bronze, which takes Tin and Copper one to one. Tin Veins are also the only source of Coarse Stone, which both crafts need, so we expect Tin to sell for more than Copper at launch.
- Scarce ores: Forever’s bonus ores Pyrite, Bauxite and Pitchblende drop while you mine; which veins drop which is unknown.
- Rockslicer: Zockify lists an item that mines Copper, Tin, Silver and Iron Veins without the Mining skill (30 charges), but Forever’s item data has no such item, so treat it as unconfirmed.

Hillsbrad Foothills
The great thing about Tin Ore farming in this zone is that it is doable by both factions. On the other side, this means that you might get into unwanted contact with the opposing faction. There is always the possibility to go a bit further north, though, and circle around the Alterac Mountains. I would recommend the outside of the mountains, because the ogres inside are elite.
Wetlands Tin Ore Farming
The Wetlands have 89 Tin Vein spawn points on Wowhead, but it is mostly an Alliance zone, making it unsuitable for Horde players. The south-east has most of the tin, which is why the route does not include the marshes of the zone. I recommend going into the two caves to grab some extra ores. In general, caves have lots of ore, so if you can, you should always give them a peek!
The Barrens
While the Ore in the Barrens is very spread out, you can just do this while you are leveling here, since most Horde players will spend a lot of time here anyway. Try to run past hills and mountains on the way to your next quest, so you don’t lose too much time. This is a Horde zone, so I do not recommend farming here as an Alliance player.
