This Honor Hold rep guide covers both Hellfire Peninsula factions: Honor Hold for the Alliance and Thrallmar for the Horde. They mirror each other exactly. Same dungeons, same rep values, same caps, and rewards that differ only in name. The short version: run normal Hellfire Ramparts and Blood Furnace until you hit 5999/6000 Friendly, then turn in all your saved Hellfire Peninsula quests, then finish with Shattered Halls and heroic Hellfire Citadel runs.
The main reason to grind this faction is the Flamewrought Key, which unlocks heroic Hellfire Ramparts, Blood Furnace and Shattered Halls. On Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary realms it currently requires Revered. The healer head enchant Glyph of Renewal and a few decent pre-raid weapons come on top.
Updated September 25, 2026: rewritten for Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary, which is in Phase 3 (Black Temple, live since August 27). Rep values are the same as in the original 2021 TBC Classic. The heroic key requirement and the account-wide Communal key are the parts that differ, and both are marked below.
Honor Hold and Thrallmar Rep at a Glance
Honor Hold and Thrallmar reputation comes from four places: Hellfire Citadel dungeons, one-time quests in Hellfire Peninsula, a daily PvP quest and a handful of mobs. Normal Ramparts and Blood Furnace stop giving rep at the end of Friendly, so from Honored onward only Shattered Halls, heroics and quests count.

Getting from Neutral to Exalted takes 42,000 rep in total: 3,000 to Friendly, 6,000 to Honored, 12,000 to Revered and 21,000 to Exalted. Human characters get 10% more from everything through the Diplomacy racial.
Fastest Way to Exalted with Honor Hold or Thrallmar
The fastest way to Exalted with Honor Hold or Thrallmar is to save your Hellfire Peninsula quests until normal dungeons are capped, then spend Revered in heroics. The order matters because the quests give the same rep at any standing, while normal Ramparts and Blood Furnace are worthless after Friendly. Every quest you turn in early is rep you later have to replace with slower dungeon runs.
- Neutral: Kill Shattered Hand orcs while you pass through (5 rep each, stops at 2999/3000 Neutral). Don’t farm them on purpose, the dungeons are faster.
- Neutral to 5999/6000 Friendly: Run normal Hellfire Ramparts and Blood Furnace at level 60 to 63. From 0 Neutral that is roughly 12 to 14 full clears, and the drops are upgrades at that level anyway. Hold the quests in your log or leave them un-accepted.
- Turn in the quests: Now do Hellfire Peninsula. Warcraft Wiki puts the Honor Hold quests at about 10,800 rep for non-humans. Counting every group, dungeon and raid quest (including The Fall of Magtheridon), Warcraft Tavern’s lists add up to about 13,900 for Honor Hold and 14,500 for Thrallmar. The open-world quests put you in the second half of Honored, and the dungeon quests you finish on your first Shattered Halls runs close most of the gap.
- Honored to Revered: Normal Shattered Halls, which needs the Shattered Halls Key from the Hotter than Hell quest (the chain starts at level 68) or a rogue with 350 Lockpicking.
- Revered to Exalted: Buy the Flamewrought Key and run heroics (level 70 required). At ~2,900 per heroic Shattered Halls, the 21,000 rep of Revered takes about 7 to 8 clears. Heroic Ramparts gives a little less but is the shortest instance, so for many groups it’s the better rep per hour.
Our estimate for a player who follows this order: about 20 to 25 dungeon runs in total from 0 Neutral to Exalted. A Favor active on the heroics cuts the Revered stretch from about 8 heroic Shattered Halls clears to about 6. If you already turned in your quests while leveling, the rep you would have taken from quick Ramparts and Blood Furnace runs has to come from Shattered Halls instead, which costs roughly 5 or 6 extra runs at level 68 or higher.
Honor Hold Favor and Thrallmar Favor
Honor Hold Favor and Thrallmar Favor raise the Honor Hold or Thrallmar rep you get from killing monsters by 25% for 30 minutes, inside Hellfire Peninsula and Hellfire Citadel. Each costs 5 PvP marks: Mark of Honor Hold for the Alliance, Mark of Thrallmar for the Horde.
You earn 3 marks from the daily PvP quest Hellfire Fortifications (capture the Overlook, the Stadium and Broken Hill), plus one mark per honorable kill near the towers. The Alliance quest and the Favor vendor is Warrant Officer Tracy Proudwell next to the Honor Hold quartermaster. The Horde version is Battlecryer Blackeye on the road to the Thrallmar inn. Since the Favor only boosts kills and not quest turn-ins, save it for heroic runs where almost all rep comes from mobs. That turns a ~2,900 heroic Shattered Halls into roughly 3,600.
Marks have other uses too: 15 buy Band or Circlet of the Victor, 10 buy a gem, and the field scouts in Zangarmarsh sell class trinkets for 30.
Honor Hold Quartermaster and Thrallmar Quartermaster Location
The Honor Hold quartermaster is Logistics Officer Ulrike at 56.7, 62.6 in Honor Hold, just left of the eastern gate next to Field Commander Romus. The Thrallmar quartermaster is Quartermaster Urgronn at 54.9, 37.8, left of the entrance to Thrallmar’s main building. Both sell the same list of items at the same standings.
Honor Hold and Thrallmar Rep Rewards by Standing
The rewards worth chasing are the heroic key at Revered, Glyph of Renewal for healers at Revered and the three epic weapons at Exalted. Everything else is profession recipes and blue items that most players outgrow quickly.

The honored and revered quartermasters also sell blue level 70 PvP class pieces (Crusader’s for paladins, Savage for warriors, Seer’s for shamans and so on). Warcraft Tavern lists them at Honored, Icy Veins at Revered, so check the vendor if you need one.
Honor Hold and Thrallmar Exalted Rewards
The Exalted weapons are the same three items with different names on each side. Honor’s Call (Alliance sword) and Warbringer (Horde axe) are one-handed tank weapons with stamina and defense rating, a solid pick until you get a raid or badge weapon. Blade of the Archmage and Stormcaller are caster main-hand swords with spell damage and spell crit rating. Veteran’s Musket and Marksman’s Bow give hunters agility, hit rating and attack power. Raid and badge weapons replace them quickly, so in Phase 3 they matter most for fresh level 70s and alts.
Pattern: Nethercobra Leg Armor is the exception that keeps its value: it’s the best leg armor for physical damage dealers, and leatherworkers who own it sell it for the whole raiding life of the expansion.
Heroic Key Requirement in TBC Anniversary
In Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary, the Flamewrought Key costs 10 gold from the Honor Hold or Thrallmar quartermaster and currently requires Revered. In the original TBC Classic, Blizzard lowered all heroic keys to Honored in March 2022 with Phase 4. Warcraft Tavern expects the same change on Anniversary realms in a later phase, but as of September 25, 2026 Blizzard hasn’t announced when.
Anniversary adds the Communal Flamewrought Pouch, sold at Revered for 80 gold. It holds a Communal Flamewrought Key that binds to your Battle.net account, so you can mail it to alts. Any character on the account can use it once they are Friendly with Honor Hold or Thrallmar. A February 12, 2026 hotfix made it work for either faction, so an Alliance main can unlock heroics for a Horde alt. That makes the Revered grind a one-time job per account instead of per character, and it’s the best argument for pushing one main to Revered early.

What dungeons give Honor Hold rep?
Hellfire Ramparts, Blood Furnace and Shattered Halls give Honor Hold rep to Alliance players and Thrallmar rep to Horde players. Normal Ramparts and Blood Furnace stop at 5999/6000 Friendly, while normal Shattered Halls and all three heroics count up to Exalted.
How do I get Thrallmar rep after Honored?
After Honored, Thrallmar rep comes from normal or heroic Shattered Halls, heroic Ramparts and Blood Furnace, any unfinished Hellfire Peninsula quests and the daily Hellfire Fortifications quest. Normal Ramparts and Blood Furnace no longer give anything.
How much Honor Hold rep do the quests give?
